Country Singer — Natalie Maines (singer)

Natalie Maines Louise Pasdar (14 October 1974) is an American singer who achieved great success as female vocalist alternative country, the Dixie Chicks.

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Maines was considered a rebel that “I liked to think in a way that I knew that most people didn’t think.” In 1995, from the Berklee College of Music, Maines is full to the Dixie Chicks to replace their singer, Laura Lynch. Maines vocals, the band won 10 Country Music Association Awards and 13 Grammy Awards for his musical work between 1998 and 2007.

On the eve of the invasion of Iraq, during a tour in London for the “Top of the World Tour” (La Tour: sum of the world), Maines said, referring to George Bush as the Dixie Chicks estavan “embarrassed… that the President of the United States outside of Texas.” The negative reaction of part of the political right and public United States to this comment was in boycotts by music radio stations country and death threats. In 2006, with Maines lead vocals, the Dixie Chicks they released their album Taking the Long Way (taking the longest road). The album later won 5 Grammys (including the Grammy for album of the year).

Biography

Maines was born in Lubbock, Texas, his father, musician and producer Lloyd Maines; his mother Tina May Maines. Attended the Williams Elementary School in Lubbock, where recalls her teacher in second grade, that Maines told him during a lesson in mathematics: “master, I don’t need to learn these things – I am going to be a star”. Maines was a decide while attended O. l. Slaton Junior High School, and graduated in 1992 from Lubbock High School, where he had participated in the choir school. Maines grew up in the State conservative Texas and made comments on their experience, saying that “… Since always me I rebelled against it.” My parents I enrolled myself and my sister schools public with minorities, so I always felt like a hippie and rebel… As a teenager I never liked to think as I knew that most people thought. I have always supported minorities… I have always defended the homosexual ones. “Always had strong convictions to do so.”
