Country Singer — Silver (album)

Silver is an album by singer country Johnny Cash, released in 1979 under on Columbia records. The album reached # 28 while the songs “(Ghost) Riders In The Sky”, “Bull Rider” and “I’ll Say it’s True” reached # 2, positions # 66 and # 42 respectively, other successes of this CD are “The L & N Don’t Stop Here Anymore”, “I’m Gonna Sit on the Porch and Pick on My Guitar” and “Cocaine Blues” which had already appeared on the CD At Folsom Prison and CD Now, There Was a Song! but under the name “Transfusion Blues”.

The album features production of Brian Ahern who had introduced digital elements in the songs which I controversy and disapproval of some fanatics.Silver was reissued in 2002 in label Legacy Recordings by adding 2 popular songs of Cash “I Still Miss Someone” and “I Got Stripes” were both duets with George Jones, this is also the last CD in which Marshall Grant (original bassist Tennessee Two) touched since leaving Cash next year.
