Country Singer — Kris Allen

Kristopher Neil Allen (born 21 June 1985) is a singer and composer American Conway, Arkansas, best known for being the winner of the eighth season of American Idol television reality show. To participate in Idol, released an album in 2007 titled Brand New Shoes.

Early years

Kris Allen was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas, son of Kimberly and Neil Allen. It has a younger brother called Daniel, who is at the University of Central Arkansas cheerleading coach and student. Allen attended the school elementary Murrell Taylor, the Fuller Middle high school and College University Mills, where he was part of the school orchestra playing the viola and later earning a place in the Orchestra of the city.

Besides the viola, Allen taught guitar at the age of thirteen, and also knows how to play the piano and ukulele. In 2007, he produced an album titled Brand New Shoes with college classmates and friends Michael Holmes (on drums) and Chase Erwin (bass). The songs on the album began to distribute throughout the country during his participation in Idol.

Allen is a devout Christian. He has done work as a missionary in the world, including places like Burma Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain, Thailand.

September 26, 2008, he married his girlfriend Katy O’Connell Allen.

American Idol

Allen auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol in Louisville, Kentucky with his brother Daniel, who failed to pass to the Hollywood round. Performed “I Want You Back”, Jackson 5, during the week of Hollywood as part of a group called White Chocolate, which included Matt Giraud, his roommate and one of the finalists of the program.
